Carolina Mathematics faculty continue to bring in a wide variety of sponsored research grants to support the work of the Department. In addition to the many continuing active awards from previous periods, newly awarded grants over the past 9 months include the following:
- Idris Assani has been awarded another NSF grant to continue the annual Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems Workshops.
- Ivan Cherednik has been awarded an NSF grant on “Double Affine Hecke Algebras”.
- Jeremy Marzuola has been awarded an NSF CAREER award.
- Peter Mucha and his collaborator Jim Moody (Duke Sociology) have been awarded an R01 grant on “Models and Tools for Dynamic Health-Relevant Diffusion over Complex Networks” from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health & Human Development of the National Institutes of Health.
